Abdominal Aortic Aneurysm Description, Imaging, and Monitoring
Abdominal Aortic Aneurysms (AAA) are a potentially life threatening condition with the mortality rate approaching 90 percent following rupture. The incidence of AAA is higher in individuals with hypertension, advanced age, and a history of smoking, and the rate of rupture is directly related to aneurysmal size and rate of enlargement.
